I am Kelly Saviano, although I rarely hear that name anymore as most call me Pickle. I like long walks on the beach, cool summer nights, blah, blah, blah! I LOVE TO RIDE!!! I was first introduced to ABATE in 1986 while living in Southern Indiana; I was pleased to help start and join ABATE here in southern Idaho.
I hold the Chair position of Membership Secretary and Desert Wheel Newspaper Editor for ABATE of Southern Idaho. I ride a Honda Shadow; I am married to Paul “Sparky” Saviano, and mother to two grown men (Dallas and Travis). After 25+ years in the medical/teaching field, I switched careers and became a Preschool Teacher. I own and operate a preschool (Wee Care Academy, LLC.) and find myself blessed to have my grandchildren attending the school as well. As a younger gal, I moved often (Coast to Coast) because my Dad was a truck driver, I love to travel, it’s in my blood. I loved being in the truck, it was my favorite place to be, the smell of the diesel fuel and the smoke from the stacks not to mention the history and geography lessons I received every time a roadside historical marker came up (Dad would stop and have me read). Home can be many places for me but the places that really felt like “home” are here in Idaho or back up in Alaska (Fairbanks and North Pole). One of my best friends here sports a patch that reads, something like “Want a Family, get a bike” and I agree. Now, with my roots planted firmly in the Idaho Soil, I find myself yearning for a “Road Trip.” So, enough with this bio stuff, “let’s go ride.”
